Before I get on with the day, a story:

So last night @danissa and I, out of desperation in finding a hiding place and saving our sanity, retreated inside an unfinished pharmacy that stood between a wet market and, as we will later on find out, beerhouses along Sucat.

We ducked behind one of those long counters that divided pharmacists from customers. Stealth fail, cos when we ducked we found that the table had big window-like holes from where anyone could easily poke a jungle bolo and not miss.

Right infront of the store, of us, were 2 middle-aged men, one’s face bloodied all over, both running from a guy who had just hidden a long itak (see below) from view inside his cargo pants. The bloodied man could hardly stand up and maybe wouldn’t have been able to run a few more inches if his companion weren’t tugging at him. We luckily got to see only until this part. I hope they survived, whatever the reason may be for these two being chased with a weapon Filipinos only used to (un/successfully) fend off colonizers some 400 years ago, I hope they survived.

The nice carpenters and painters who were quietly dining inside the pharmacy before this happened nudged us to move inner into the room. I could tell they were scared shitless, too. We might have weirded them out cos Danissa and I kept on laughing our asses, laughing a mixture of shit what did we get ourselves into and dude what if we don’t get out alive we just went here for a goddamn gig goddamit.
